Parent Code of Ethics

1. I hereby pledge to provide support, care and encouragement for my child participating in youth sports by following this Parents’ Code of Ethics Pledge.
2. I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches and officials at every game, practice or other youth sports event.
3. I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of my personal desire to win.
4. I will insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment.
5. I will support the coaches and officials working with my child in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
6. I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free of drugs, tobacco and alcohol and will refrain from their use at all youth sports events.
7. I will remember the game is for the youth – not for the adults.
8. I will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child.
9. I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability.
10. I promise to help my child enjoy the youth sports experience by doing whatever I can, such as being a respectable fan, assisting with coaching when asked and providing transportation.
11. I will require my coach abide by the Coaches’ Code of Ethics.
12. I will help my child understand and follow the Players Code of Ethics.
13. I will do what I can to help Leeds Athletic Association implement and enforce the Codes of Ethics for the players, parents, coaches and officials.

I have read the above Code of Ethics and hereby pledge to abide by it.
