Welcome to the 2009-2010 season of River Valley Cheerleading. Pre K & Kindergarten: (Rising Stars) This is a learn to cheer program. All are welcome to participate! The participants will learn a 2 - 2-1/2 minute routine and will go to three competitions for exhibition purposes only! The girls have a great time learning to dance, stunt, tumble and cheer! Maximum 20 participants! Sign-up early! :) 1st - 2nd Grade Team: (Rising Stars) This is a learn to cheer program. All are welcome to participate! The participants will learn a 2 - 2-1/2 minute routine and will go to three competitions for exhibition purposes only! The girls have a great time learning to dance, stunt, tumble and cheer! Maximum 20 participants! Sign-up early! :) 2nd - 4th Grade Team: (Shooting Stars) This is also a learn to cheer program. Beginners are welcome! The participants will learn a 2-1/2 to 3 minute routine and will go to three to five competitions for exhibition purposes only! The girls have a great time learning to dance, stunt, tumble and cheer! There will be one team at this level with a maximum of 18 participants. If there is a need/interest, we will make two teams. *2nd graders are placed on this team with director/coach approval. 4th - 6th Grade Team: (Shining Stars) This is a more competitive type team atmosphere. This is the first year that the participants go to competition to actually compete. They are scored and receive 1st & 2nd place trophies. They will be taught a 2-1/2 to 3 minute routine with dancing, stunting and tumbling and a cheer. At this level, we expect a strong commitment to the sport and the team. We do accept first year cheerleaders with a strong willingness to learn! This team will attend four to five competitions. There will be one team at this level with a maximum of 20 participants. We will accept alternates at this level. *4th graders are placed on this team with director/coach approval and/or try-out basis only. 6th - 8th Grade Team: (Super Stars) This is a competitive team atmosphere. The participants will be taught a 2-1/2 to 3 minute routine with more difficult dancing, stunting, elite tumbling, dancing and a cheer. We expect a very strong commitment to the sport and the team. We do accept first year cheerleaders with a strong willingness to learn! This team will attend a minimum of four competitions and could be up to six. There will be one team at this level with a maximum of 20 participants. We will accept alternates at this level. *6th graders are placed on this team with director/coach approval and/or try-out basis only. Registration is $35.00 per participant.
